It's amazing what you can find in your mother's closet. If you were blessed with a lovely mother who has tragic style, you may discover some terrible pieces that just make you say, "What in the world were you thinking?" But let's be real, whether you are 45 or 16, you are going to find yourself asking that question of your own closet. Anyway, our parents have lived through decades, and a young person like myself can't even fathom what fashion was like then. Thankfully, my mother has been and is stylish.

The choice piece I wore today from my mother's humble wardrobe is this pleated white skirt from Ann Taylor Loft. Now, this skirt certainly isn't from the 80s. Sure, your first thought might be "why is this girl wearing a cheerleader like skirt?" Well, yes, this skirt in a way resembles an old fashioned cheerleader skirt. Maybe that's why I like it so much (I'm a cheerleader).

Shirt: J. Crew (similar)//Skirt: Ann Taylor Loft (old)//Shoes: Sperry Topsider (old)//Clutch: Vineyard Vines (similar)
