Weekly Verse: 2 Corinthians 4:18

I struggle a lot with focusing on earthly matters rather than eternity. Who doesn't like imagining what they will be doing in 5 years, their wedding or their future kids? Especially with outlets like Pinterest, it is hard to escape imagining what is to come on earth. Unfortunately, all of the wonderful commodities earth has to offer have an end. One day relationships on earth will fail, what you wear on your wedding won't matter, and all the time worrying about what the next day holds will be rendered useless. Earthly matters are temporary.

God, in turn, wants us to focus on eternity. One day when Christ returns, our earthly desires won't matter; Christ only cares about how we follow Him. Once we develop a relationship with Christ, the possibilities are endless. Christ will guide you through any troubles if you are willing to put more care into Him than the world. When our terrestrial bodies fail us, our relationship with Christ will be the only thing that matters. Focus on eternity.
