Monogrammed Hat

Trying to get my dog to take pictures is nearly impossible

I am a sucker for anything monogrammed or seersucker! (Like that play on words?) When I went to a monogramming party a few weeks ago (mentioned in this post), I purchased this blue seersucker hat with a orange monogram. I could not be more pleased. The company who designed this hat for me is called Preppy Pelican. You can find them through Facebook or Instagram. They can do pretty much anything monogram wise. I can't wait to show off my other items I bought from them.

There are several things I love about this hat. First of all, I've been wanting a monogrammed hat for a VERY long time. Secondly, the tied bow on the back is to die for. Thirdly, it's Auburn colors! As of right now, Auburn is one of my top choices. I love everything about the school, from the school pride to the cute college town it is in. I could not be more over joyed when I received my acceptance letter to Auburn! I was literally grinning ear to ear.

Anchors Away

I am absolutely loving this weather. Typically in Florida, you have to suffer through months and months of heat in the fall before you can get the slightest touch of cold weather. But surprise! This year, we are enjoying days of weather in the low eighties/ high seventies. Now I know that may seem warm to most, but here in Florida, that's the best you can get.

This amazing weather has caused me to whip out my favorite brown boots. I don't even know how many years ago I got these, but I love them. They are at that perfect "worn-in" state, so I am going to wear them as much as I can this fall/winter.

Gingham on the Fairway

I absolutely love this dress! I bought it last winter at a Holiday Market, and I take every opportunity to wear it. The dress is made by the same designer as my backless striped dress I wore in this post. Not only are the dresses attractive, but they are made extremely well. For example, this gingham dress has boning in the torso, which is necessary for that close hugging fit. My favorite part of the dress is the HUGE bow on the front! You can't just find something like that in stores, which is why I love this dress so much. It is completely unique.

I could not wait to get a chance to wear these earrings! Ever since I saw them on Instagram a few months back, I was dying to get them. After browsing the Olive and Piper website for homecoming earrings a few weeks back, I had to purchase them! The glamorous look and lightweight feel make them the perfect accessory.

It's Great to be a Lancer

I have always loved cheering. There's just something about standing on that field every Friday night with flood lights shining down cheering on your team. As my last and final year of cheering for football is coming to an end, I've really tried to make it the best it can possibly be. And it has been!

Last night was my cheer team's unofficial senior night. We had senior night a couple of weeks ago, and things didn't turn out. Long story short, last night was officially deemed Senior Night 2.0.

We started out the night by going to California Pizza Kitchen (my favorite at the mall!) for dinner. Of course, dinner was delicious, especially the sweet tea! (They have the absolute BEST tea) The best part of dinner was the presents and cake! I had known how hard my mom and a few of my teammates were working this week, and it really showed!

One of the mom's made this cake! I especially loved that she put my monogram on it!
These shadow boxes were perfect!

We also got sashes and crowns! You probably can tell how girly I am, right? As the night went on, everything seemed to get better and better. When we got to the field, the lighting was perfect for pictures. I love taking candid shots with my best friend. They are so cute!

The best part of the night had to be the game. Although it was at our home field, we were playing as the away team because it was the other team's homecoming game. This was the game of the year. We had never beaten the opposing team, and for once, we were expected to win.

This was the first game when our student section, the Moat Mob, really came out. They did a white out, brought confetti canons and yelled the entire game. It was such an indescribable feeling with all the students cheering behind me. You could just feel the energy vibrating on the field.

The whole game was neck and neck. After one team would score, the other would score as well. So stressful! With two minutes left in the 4th quarter, we got ahead by one touchdown. I've never heard so many Cambridge fans yell that loud. It was amazing! After holding the ball, we won! 49-42. It was an amazing game. Certainly one I will never forget.

SENIORS!

Lastly, I would like to thank my mom for everything she has done for me these past years. Yes, she has cared for me throughout my life, but as the team mom she could not be more amazing. Somehow she manages to keep everything in order. No matter what, she makes sure that everything will turn out. She made Senior Night everything I wanted it to be and more. Love you Mommy!!

Let the Good Times Roll

My Senior homecoming has finally come and gone. Although I am sad I won't have another homecoming, I am happy all of the stress is over. Not only is the week stressful, but I am a member of student council, so I had to plan the dance. The theme this year: 50's. It was so much fun getting all of the ideas for the dance, and it really turned out well!

The bathroom was decorated like Breakfast at Tiffany's!

Now the theme is all fun and what not, but let's get to the dresses! I love going shopping for my homecoming dress (I go typically a year in advance). This year I went with the Gatsby theme.

I LOVE the detail on this dress. Scallopping is one of my favorite trends right now, and I was happy to include it in my homecoming ensemble.

These Olive and Piper earrings are amazing! They sparkle and shine and make me feel like a queen!

Homecoming Week

Homecoming week is a blessing and a curse at my school. It is unbelievable how all students, faculty, parents and administrators get into it. It is also unbelievable how sick every gets during the insane festivities. For example, me and 72 other high school students are out today due to the flu. Yep, 72. Now at a public school that wouldn't seem as much, but that is pretty much half of my high school. So while I'm stuck home (I finally broke my fever!!!), I figured it was perfect timing to get out my homecoming post.
Homecoming week is crazy. If you think/thought your high school had an amazing homecoming week, think again. Because my school is very small, EVERYBODY puts forth their absolute body and soul into a week of classes battling to take the coveted first place.

The week starts of with the traditional pep rally. At the pep rally classes face off in pie eating, banner presentation, mascot competitions, minute to win it games, dance competitions, and flag presentations. Here are a few shots from the crazy night.

Here is the senior class mascot. We proudly took first for this. The ironic thing is that we made it the day of. Literally, during class meetings a few of us asked the principal if we could go buy stuff for it, and she gladly let us go. It's amazing what two pillow cases glued together can do.

It is probably good to mention that the Senior theme this year is America. Every year the seniors pick a theme, and nothing better describes our class's love for the United States of America.

This is our proudest accomplishment. Every year, this one girl and her father outdo themselves with the flag. We have gotten first place every year, and Senior year did not disappoint.

Now, that was only a brief view of the pep rally, but if I included it all, this post would drag on endlessly. Dress days at my school are like everything else, ridiculous. People really go out of the box to make amazing costumes. Tuesday was Famous Families day. While some people choose the more obvious families like Duck Dynasty or the Brady Bunch, my group was Cinderella (I actually was Cinderella!).

Never under estimate what you can find at Good Will! I got that beautiful wedding dress for around $40!
The next dress day was Thursday. It was TBT day (original right?). My group's outfit was a very long story which only Cambridge students would understand, so I'll show some of the other groups. On Thursday, the Seniors took 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th. We basically ruled.

This group throwback to our elementary morning show. Those are legitimate lower school uniforms and everything.

The final day was Inanimate Object day. I love this day. It is such a broad subject, so everyone has freedom to do pretty much anything.

We of course had to do an American flag!

This was hilarious. My group was bowling pins, and we couldn't get up once we fell over!

Polaroid!

Gumball machine!
Now this was only a portion of my homecoming week. I hope you enjoyed seeing a different take on a traditional homecoming week!

Have any great memories from Homecoming week?
